Can you help me access my superannuation for my dental treatment?

The answer is yes! At Northland Dental Clinic, we want you to be able to afford your necessary dental work, and sometimes accessing your superannuation funds is the only way to do that.

You can access your super savings without incident if you are already retired. However, if you are still working but don’t qualify for dental treatment in the public health system and can’t afford your dental expenses, you may be able to gain early access to your funds. Here’s how.

Who Is Eligible for Release of Super Funds?

If you would like to be considered for early release of your super, you must require dental treatment to alleviate either chronic pain, mental illness or a life-threatening illness or injury. If this applies to you, we can help by providing proof of your condition and verifying that you don’t have sufficient health insurance.

Keep in mind that the intent of your super savings is to pay for living expenses once you retire, so it’s essential that you talk to your superannuation fund to understand the implications of applying for early release. In addition, you may have to pay an early withdrawal penalty if you haven’t yet reached preservation age, typically between the ages of 55 and 60.

Do You Have Questions About Superannuation Funds?

If so, the dental team at Northland Dental Clinic wants to help. We can assist you in navigating your super to ensure you receive the dental treatment you need and deserve.
